Tennis in the Philippines has a path, but it is scattered: PHILTA, the Palawan Pawnshop junior circuit, UTR, World Tennis (formerly ITF) events and US college tennis each have their own rules and calendars. This guide puts them in one ladder so you can see where you are and what comes next.

The six stages
  1. RecreationalOpen plays, group clinics and lessons. Play often and track sessions on your Training Passport.₱25k–₱80k / year
  2. Club competitiveClub ladders, social tournaments and confirmed matches at your level. Your Flash Rating starts to mean something.₱60k–₱150k / year
  3. Local rankedPHILTA-sanctioned events, including the Palawan Pawnshop junior circuit (10U–18U), sanctioned by PHILTA and UTR.₱120k–₱300k / year
  4. UTR-trackedSanctioned results give you a UTR Rating — how coaches and colleges worldwide compare players.Free account
  5. World Tennis JuniorsFormerly ITF Juniors: J30 up to J500 and the junior Grand Slams. Two J30s are in Manila in late November 2026.₱400k–₱1.5M+ / year
  6. Pro circuitWorld Tennis Tour (M15/M25, W15 and up), then Challengers and WTA 125 events like the Philippine Women’s Open.Plan with a high-performance coach

Two routes after juniors

The college route: US college tennis recruits by UTR and video. It turns tennis into a degree and often a scholarship. The pro route: World Tennis Tour events for ranking points — expensive and long, best decided with a high-performance coach.

Yearly figures above are FlashCourt estimates. See Part 5: what it costs for the line items.
