College tennis is one of the best routes for strong juniors: a degree, high-level competition and often a scholarship. US college coaches compare international players mainly by UTR Rating, which is the official rating of the ITA (college tennis).

Women Men · Division I men: no published range — many programs recruit around 12–13+ (dashed)

As a rough starting point, many Division I women’s programs look at UTR 8+ and men’s at 12+. Division II, NAIA and junior colleges also offer athletic scholarships.

What coaches look for

  • A verified UTR from sanctioned events — play the Palawan circuit and UTR events regularly.
  • A short match video (a few points from both ends, serve and return).
  • Grades and English test plans.
  • A clean record: results, training, coaches. Your FlashCourt Tennis CV puts it on one private link you can share.

Timeline

Start building the profile around age 15–16; contact coaches with a subject line like Name · Grad year · UTR · GPA; check each division’s contact rules.
